Membership

Many levels of the FFA can award degrees of membership to that level, signifying an individual member's accomplishments. The recognized Degrees of Membership are:

 

Discovery
Greenhand
 Chapter
 State
American

Stamford FFA awards the Greenhand Degree and Chapter Degree as an chapter. However, Stamford FFA sponsors and prepares students to receive their Lone Star Degree, awarded by the Texas FFA Association, and their American Degree, awarded by the National FFA Organization. The Discovery Degree is awarded to middle school students who participate in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) classes at the 7th or 8th grade level. Currently, Stamford ISD does not offer AFNR classes to middle school students, and therefore does not award the Discovery Degree.
